The club maiden appearance in organized league football was on February 2016, Nairobi West Sub County league . County League.. Our objective for that season was quite ambitious, to earn promotion to tier2. The first two years was unexpectedly bumpy.

The team was young and inexperienced composed of mostly teenagers about to complete their high school. Also inhibiting was the inability to cater for transport costs, with the players footing the bill. Allowances were sporadic as they depended on well wisher donations. This not only affected player morale but made it impossible for the club to acquire more experienced players during the transfer period. A xth and yth position finish made us go back to the drawing to set more realistic goals and find ways to mobilize resources to lift player spirits

2018 was unique, started of with the emerging challenge of how to engage bulging numbers of out of school players. With only x still in school most in the squad were starting to starting to feel the pressures of adult life. Some took on odd jobs to make ends meet. which unfortunately affected availability of key players during the critical pre-season period 1st and 2nd month. The club swiftly initiated proactive measures. First of which, was to give the players a chance to earn something from CSA brands. Players had the option of offering their services in event organization or officiating. Both academy and club believe in whole life coaching. Apart from talent nurturing the coach as mentor also, always seeks for opportunities to impart key life skills such as stewardship in the players. In the, first event staffing outing at the 2017 edition Chezasports Interschool.. the club were proud to see them handle vested responsibilities well.

Determined to keep commitment levels up the club set up safety net fund to cater for monthly food rations and accommodation for needy deserving players. To knee jerk the fund the board of the parent organization transferred 2017’s Chezasports Opens event brand’s, exclusive organization and revenue collection rights to the club’s players The year also saw, 10 club players receiving sponsorship for TREC LEVEL I & II coaching courses. The expertise they received then qualified them to enroll as part time coaches CSA soccer training sessions. Ideally, moving forward the intends to mobilize resources increase players offered sponsorships and diversify training into other sports industry disciplines. These measures seemed to bear fruit. They was more confidence and commitment in the teams play This won the club more fans going by the surge in club’s social media traffic data that year.

The club’s technical standards is directly correlated with that of its feeder academy CSA. Last year, CSA’s 6 year work in talent nurturing was now catching the serious attention of many a stakeholder in the business. In the course of the year, FKF forged a close working relationship with the academy The academy acted as host to the FKF Nairobi County U13 & U15 Selections. FKF is the key cog in Kenya football business wheel and this trend.of events can only bode well for the both academy & club in coming days.Brokering a youth soccer development partnership with Kenya’s giant pro club AFC Leopard mid year was a game changer. In effect the clubs image was enhanced much among soccer industry players.

In the mid season transfer window the club signed 3 highly rated players in the Kenya Secondary soccer scene, and on radar of both KPL and NSL scouts Their .input in the 2nd leg of the league was both definite and significant. The club not only won the league but won playing good soccer.

The Nairobi county league operates in the semi-professional realm. Traditionally, professional football clubs drew direct income mostly from ticketing merchandising, broadcasting rights and player transfers. However clubs plying lower tier FKF league i.e SUPERLEAGUE I& II, REGIONAL and County leagues derive little or no revenue from these revenue streams.

Most of the clubs are unable to run sustainably. Transports costs, Remunerations, Maintenance of the football clubs‟ assets and facility access costs remains a burden for most clubs.
